Since its founding in 2023, Beauty Theory has been dedicated to expanding and sharing knowledge, inspiring innovation, and preserving cultural information for future generations.

Beauty Theory’s reach is both local and international. It partners with its hometown of Oahu, Hawaii to strengthen the city’s community and economy. And it engages with people and institutes across the world in the mission to promote cultural awareness, improve the experiences, characteristics, and limitations of life shared by all.  Together we explore more deeply into the secrets of the universe and train the next generation of world leaders in the beauty industry.

Tuiton

Lots of people want (and should!) go to beauty school, but the price of education can be a deterrent. While the sticker shock might send you running, don’t let the tuition cost keep you from attending beauty school! There are plenty of options out there to help you pay for school.

 

Beauty Theory School of Cosmetology offers private pay as a payment option for our students at this time.  Tuition can be paid by payment plan. Please ask about this option during your tour or school registration.  There are also many scholarship opportunities please see below.

ACE Grant ACE Grants are designed to help you begin your career in cosmetology. ACE Grants are the first ever industry-wide effort to encourage highly motivated and qualified individuals to join the world of cosmetology.

Sport Clips & American Crew ACE Scholarship Program Through the ACE (Access to Cosmetology Education) Scholarship Program, up to 20 Cosmetology Students who are enrolled at an AACS member school, will each be awarded a $1,000 scholarship provided by Sport Clips/American Crew. Beauty Schools Directory $2,500 Cosmetology Scholarship Future students of the beauty disciplines – including cosmetology, barbering, esthetics and skin care, nail technology, makeup artistry and several others – can apply for these $2,500 scholarships for cosmetology school. This beauty school scholarship is awarded four times per year, and may be used at most schools nationwide. The scholarship recipient is selected from the pool of individuals who submit their scholarship applications before the deadline each quarter, and meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the rules. The Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship Foundation The Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship Foundation was established in 1994 by his wife of 39 years, Flo Francis, and the many people whom Joe Francis advised and mentored to their own success in the industry. The mission of the foundation is to help deserving students receive financial assistance for the professional training necessary to build successful, long-term careers in the cosmetology industry. In addition to beauty school scholarships, you can find scholarships based on your ethnicity, volunteer activities, religion and more.

Sallie Mae offers private student loans for students who are attending college. They offer multiple repayment options, competitive interest rates, and no origination fee. If you can’t get a federal loan, Sallie Mae is a great option to pay for school.

Are there advantages in the beauty industry?

  • Financial and time benefits that suit your needs.
  • If you hope to earn an advanced degree, you will generally need a bachelor's to begin work on your master's or doctorate. These programs typically take two and four or more years to complete, respectively. Master's and doctoral programs focus almost exclusively on topics related to your chosen field and allow you to achieve mastery in the area.
  • Cosmetology programs allow you to earn certification and/or licensure in various areas of the field. A full cosmetology program, which will enable you to perform a variety of techniques and work in such places as spas and salons, will usually take less than two years to complete if attending full time.

By comparison, the much lower tuition and time to graduate from cosmetology school means beauty-industry graduates enter the job market in half the time (or less) than their peers in academic programs, and unburdened by long-term debt.
